Privacy Policy

Braidcast is a desktop application. It runs on your computer, and your broadcast media and account credentials stay on your device. We do not operate user accounts and we do not have a database of our users.

Data we access

When you connect a streaming account, Braidcast requests an OAuth access token (and, where the platform issues one, a refresh token) from that platform. These tokens authorize Braidcast to create and manage broadcasts and to read basic channel information on your behalf. We request the narrowest scopes that still support the features you use.

Where your data is stored

OAuth tokens and connection settings are stored locally on your device and are encrypted at rest. On Windows this uses the operating system's Data Protection API (DPAPI), which binds the encrypted data to your Windows user account. We do not keep a copy of your tokens on any server.

Our authentication broker

Signing in to a platform requires a client secret that must not ship inside a desktop application. Braidcast therefore performs the OAuth code exchange and token refresh through a small service we operate atauth.braidcast.com. This means the authorization code, and your refresh token when a token is renewed, pass through that service in transit.

The broker is stateless. It adds the client secret, forwards the request to the platform, returns the platform's response to your device, and retains nothing. It has no database and writes no logs of token values. Your video, audio, and chat never pass through it: broadcast media travels directly from your device to the platforms you have connected.

Data we do not collect

We do not operate an account system, we do not run analytics or telemetry in the application, and we do not collect your personal information, viewing activity, or stream content.

YouTube API Services

Braidcast uses YouTube API Services to create and manage your live broadcasts on YouTube. By connecting a YouTube account you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your information is described in theGoogle Privacy Policy.

Through the YouTube API, Braidcast reads your channel's basic details and available video categories, and creates, binds, updates, and monitors the live broadcasts and streams you start from the application. This data is used only to run the broadcast you asked for, is held on your device, and is not shared with anyone else.

You can revoke Braidcast's access to your YouTube account at any time through Google'ssecurity settings page.

Facebook

Connecting a Facebook account lets Braidcast stream to a FacebookPage you manage. Braidcast reads the list of Pages you administer so you can choose one, and creates and ends live videos on the Page you select. Personal-profile streaming is not supported.

The Page access token is stored on your device under the same encryption as every other platform. Facebook's own handling of your information is described in theMeta Privacy Policy. You can withdraw Braidcast's access at any time fromSettings › Apps and Websiteson Facebook.

Other third-party platforms

When you choose to connect a platform, your use of that platform is governed by its own terms and privacy policy:

Braidcast interacts with these services only to authenticate your account and manage the broadcasts you start.

Data retention and deletion

Because tokens are stored only on your device, you remain in control of them at all times. Disconnecting a platform inside Braidcast deletes that platform's stored tokens from your device, and deleting the application's local configuration removes all stored data.

Disconnecting inside the application removes your local copy of the credential. To withdraw the authorization itself, revoke Braidcast's access from the connected platform's security settings. For YouTube, that is the Google page linked above.

Children's privacy

Braidcast is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this policy as the application evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
